The Approach

2016_05_12 1000 Days

Strategic consultancy and high-impact design for the most progressive causes.

With over 15 years’ experience working for human rights organisations, I specialise in communicating complex and controversial issues, bringing them to wider audiences and achieving results.

I bring creative solutions to problems, humanising issues and telling stories. I create artwork that stands out and brings campaigns to life. I only work with charities and non-profit organisations trying to change the world.

Recent clients include APPEAL, Videre, Global Action Plan, Foxglove, Declassified UK, Democracy for Sale, KIND UK and Detention Action.

Consultancy

I offer consultancy on NGO strategy, campaigns and communications, movement building, press, policy and parliamentary influencing, copywriting, branding and messaging.

Artwork

I create graphics, cover art, logos, animated gifs, infographics, and much more.

I use visual elements to communicate the message, humanise issues and make campaigns stand out.

Graphic design

I do a range of graphic design work for digital and print - including reports, branded documents, leaflets, posters and banners.

About Me

I am a highly experienced NGO strategist, communicator, campaigner and graphic designer.

I have worked in human rights campaigns, communications and policy for around 15 years. I was Head of Campaigns at Reprieve, a human rights organisation working on the death penalty and Guantánamo Bay, and I was Head of Campaigns and Communications at Detention Action, which works on immigration detention, deportations and refugee rights.

As a designer and someone who has led national and international campaigns, I have a unique insight into what works, what doesn’t, how to successfully collaborate, and the impact that great art can have on campaigns.

During my career, I am proud to have worked on campaigns that have helped free prisoners, stop executions and expose extreme human rights abuses at the highest level.

I hold a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Keele University, an MA in Human Rights from University College London, and a PGDIP in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust.
